The more things change, right?

Times are bad. Children no longer obey their parents, and everyone is writing a book.

You wouldn't be surprised to hear that Warren Buffett or Martha Stewart said it just last week, but they did not. (I don't know where that pairing came from. Thin air, pretty much.)

It was the Roman orator, philosopher and statesman, Marcus Tullius Cicero, born January 3, 106 BC, died December 7, 43 BC. (If you're bad at math, that's very, very, very long ago.)

He said a bunch of amazing things, you'll recognize some of the quotes. But he also said some silly stuff. For instance, this:

No sane man will dance.

OK, cool: we're all entitled to an off day. (Or maybe Cicero just couldn't get into tripping the light fantastic.)
