Tabrioets 1 - Bohemia 0

On this day in 1420, the Taboriets beat Bohemia in the Battle at Vitkov Zizka Hill near Prague in what is now the Czech Republic.

You know, I started out looking for some silly and little known fact to pop into my blog for today, but the more I poked, the more interesting it all became. Seriously: if you have an extra few minutes, follow the link and check it out.

The odds were incredible: 12,000 men on one side and between 50,000 and 200,000 men and the Holy Roman Empire on the other. And the underdog Hussites under Jan Zizka smoked ‘em.
It just goes to show: there are no silly little known facts, not really. There’s just stuff we haven’t learned about yet.
