$4000 and Counting...

With a little less than four days to go, Julie Kenner (The Manolo Matrix, California Demon) reports that over $4000 has thus far been raised with her very grassroots effort.

As I reported here just as everything got underway, Kenner has used her considerable energy and tapped her considerable resources to host
a fundraiser for Love Without Boundaries, a non-profit organization that helps orphaned children in China. Kenner hit author, editor and agent pals for donations of stuff (mostly signed books) and services (manuscript critiques and so on). Kenner goes into her motivations in more depth on her Web site. There’s also a full list of sale items there. Be warned: Kenner’s reasons are good and some of the photos she’s included are not for the squeamish.

If you don’t need to see the reasons but do want to see the stuff for sale, you can go directly to the list on e-Bay.

This is a super cause and I’m just so impressed with Kenner for taking this on: for seeing a hole and doing her best to fill it. From the looks of things, it’s also going to be a super opportunity to get some really great buys on a number of books. Donating authors include
Allison Brennan, Jill Connor Browne, Mary and Carol Higgins Clark, Natalie Collins, Dee Davis, DeMille, Christine Feehan, Anne Frasier, Laurell K. Hamilton, L.C. Hayden, Eloisa James, JA Konrath, Harley Jane Kozak, Joe R. Lansdale, Laurie Notaro, Martha O'Connor, Kathleen O'Reilly, Carly Phillips, Nora Roberts, Cyndy Salzmann, Sandra Ruttan and many, many others, including me.

Run, don’t walk.

with several days left!

julie is absolutely amazing!
I know! She really is. And we have to do what we can to spread the word. Like I said, it's an exceptional cause, but it's also a great place to do some serious book shopping. Gotta love a win-win.
