Quote of the Week: Michael Dibdin

In a lovely remembrance of Dibdin, J. Kingston Pierce includes a wonderful quote. I wanted to share it with you while I take a little while to remember this author, who I met only briefly, but whose work brought so much delight over the years.
The mainstream has lost its way. Crime fiction is an objective, realistic genre because it’s about the real world, real bodies really being killed by somebody. And this involves the investigator in trying to understand the society that the person lived in.
