Quote of the Week: Arthur C. Clarke
“Life is just one big banana. Science fiction allows us all to peel open the reality and discover the yellow truth inside.” -- Arthur C. Clarke, December 16, 1917 to March 19, 2008.
I’m sadder at the passing of Sir Arthur than I would have expected, given that he was 90 and not in the best of health. Still. A light that burned very brightly has been extinguished. I’ve written more about it all at January, of course. For now, though, we bow our heads.
Oh no: this just in. Minghella and Clarke in a single day? I think I’ll just go off and be sad now.

(but if you need some levity:

Arthur was old, so his death wasn't a shock, but it still most certainly leaves a hole.
Minghella, however, was just 54 ...

He also directed the movie version of the novel, "The Spook Who Sat By The Door."
