November Dreaming

If I say too much about this, I will begin a rant, a spew, a screed. No one wants that, least of all me.

That said, why does November still feel so dangerously far away? On the one hand, you think: Almost there! And on the other: Will it never come? Meanwhile, every action seems designed to help him live on in infamy. This from Reuters less than an hour ago:

President George W. Bush planned to lift a ban on oil exploration in the Outer Continental Shelf on Monday as part of an effort to ease record high oil prices, the White House said.

My heart weeps.
