Torres Bound for Olympics

Dara Torres’ story will be an inspiring one for women everywhere, no matter how she fairs at the Olympics later this summer. The big news today is that she’s going at all. CNN has the story:
Dara Torres booked her place on a fifth Olympic team at the age of 41, after an unlikely triumph in the women's 100m freestyle at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials in Omaha, Nebraska.

Torres is all smiles after winning the 100m freestyle to book her place in the U.S. Olympic team for a fifth time.

Torres -- who competed in her first Games at Los Angeles in 1984 -- swam in Seoul in 1988 and Barcelona in 1992 before retiring, then came back to earn a spot on the team for the 2000 Sydney Games -- where she won five of her nine career Olympic medals.
Helluva a book here, yes? Wonder if it’s already in the works?

Have been following this. Very encouraging. Makes me want to take up swimming again. Wonder how many other 40somethings I'll be seeing at the pool now? Lots, I hope.
